As an Associate in the Risk Management - Market Risk Middle Office, you will engage in regular interactions with Market Risk Management, Product Control, Middle Offices, Market Risk Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, and Technology teams across various business lines. Your role will not only support the Business As Usual (BAU) Production process but also involve you in numerous improvement initiatives such as automation, system migrations, and procedure documentation, all aimed at enhancing various Risk processes. You will also participate in significant projects within and outside the group, including the implementation of new regulatory requirements and improvements to the market risk infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform control processes in support of various risk processes, primarily FSI Stress, Volcker, and Default Exposure measures
- Understanding the end to end data flow, and how inputs upstream and the interpretation of the data within the market risk infrastructure contribute as drivers of variances in respective risk measures.
- Serve as a relationship manager responsible for tracking and communicating issues relative to assigned lines of business.
- Focus on controls, as well as the ability to forge partnerships across functions.
- Assist in the identification and remediation of control gaps.
- Work on other special projects.
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities
- 3 plus years’ experience working within a financial/risk/professional environment
- Strong knowledge of financial markets
- Control mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create and present training materials.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop effective credible relationships with the business and functional partners
- Superior analytical abilities
- Interacts effectively with peers and senior management
- Process-oriented with focus on continuous streamlining/improvement
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite
