Cost Analyst

The Cost Analyst is a key individual contributor within the accounting team, where Cost Accounting will be the primary focus. This position will become the subject matter expert and will be the go-to person for supporting standard cost requests, ensuring the accuracy of the manufacturing cost accounting system, and providing analysis to support management decisions.

Core Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely and accurate execution of costing activities. These include but are not limited to:
  • identifying and resolving cost and/or inventory errors
  • calculating standard cost for new SKUs, as needed
  • partnering with various departments to provide analytical support (i.e., cost analysis, variance analysis)
  • performing monthly, quarterly and annual closing items (i.e. accruals, reconciliations)
  • leading annual budget development and standard cost roll
  • leading physical inventory counts/cycle counts for multiple locations
  • supporting internal and external audit requests, as needed
  • embracing a continuous improvement mindset
  • improving the accuracy of cost standards (i.e. models, process changes)

Key Requirements:

• BS/BA Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA/CMA preferred but not required
• GAAP knowledge preferred
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a costing role preferred
• AS400 system experience preferred but not required
• Manufacturing Experience
• Be able to diagnose problems quickly, analyze data, and have foresight into potential issues
• Travel as needed, up to 10%
• Ability to think strategically and adjust to a changing environment
