Staff Specialist within the Facilities Industrial Repair & Maintenance job family. Completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways. Complexity & Problem Solving: Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. Collaboration & Interaction: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. May be informal team leader.
Staff Specialist (Hourly)
1. Troubleshoot facilities and production machinery
2. Install, maintain, repair or fabricate machinery
3. Use test equipment, such as vibration meters, tachometers, dial indicators, and support equipment, volt/ohn meter
4. Perform basic carpentry and plumbing when needed
5. Service and repair gear boxes
6. Complete paperwork required on work order requests
7. Change light fixtures in accordance with any regulatory requirements
8. Start up and shut down fire pump, valves, and sprinklers
9. Start up and shut down the boiler and keep records of condition and add chemicals, as needed
10. Start up and shut down air compressor system
11. Operate computers that monitor and control machine and facility equipment
12. Submit and maintain log of all purchase order requests
13. Primary contact for all facility alarm systems
14. Serves as on-call representative for maintenance emergencies when needed.
15. Serves as liaison for on-site contractor resource for all facilities work order requests.
