Position Overview : We are seeking a commercially oriented individual with a strong background in B2B industrial sales to cover the Midwest and Western states. The ideal candidate will maintain existing accounts, while also identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities :
Travel approximately 50% of the time within the Midwest and Western U.S. (and plants in the Carolinas).
Maintain and grow an existing account base estimated at $2.5M.
Focus on new business development (NBD) with a target of $2M in the first year.
Target MRO and distribution outlets, with a focus on automotive, aerospace, and power generation segments.
Develop account and evaluation plans to effectively manage time and resources.
Engage with clients at all levels, from shop floor personnel to C-suite executives.
Important : This role supports the mid-west, so preference would be candidates in, or willing to relocate to, that part of the country. Close proximity to a major airport will be critical to support the high level of travel.
Qualifications :
College degree or relative experience required.
Willingness to travel frequently, 50% of the time within the Midwest and Western U.S. (and plants in the Carolinas).
Minimum 3-5 years of B2B industrial sales experience.
Self-motivated and tenacious; comfortable with overcoming objections and competing in a competitive environment.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
Familiarity with manufacturing environments is a plus.
Knowledge of composites (glass, aramid, advanced chemistries) is a plus.
Proven track record of effective communication and relationship-building.
