The Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider practices under the supervising physician and is responsible for assisting with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations within the inpatient/outpatient setting. Candidates will work alongside and directly support neurosurgeon in the OR, hospital rounds, and clinic. On-call is required. This is an excellent opportunity to join a group of talented physicians providing expert neurological care at a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Responsibilities Include
- Assists in the delivery of medical care to the patient by reviewing and monitoring treatment and therapy plans in the inpatient and outpatient settings
- Obtains medical and personal histories, performs physical exams, orders appropriate laboratory, diagnostic and radiographic tests and interprets results
- Educates patients and families regarding the plan of care
- Performs clinical procedures under direction of attending physician according to approved hospital protocols
- Works in conjunction with orthopedic residents for the management of spine patients
- Assists surgeon in the operating room on spinal and cranial cases
- Conducts bedside interventions with the supervision of attending provider including placement of intracranial pressure monitors, external ventricular drains, and lumbar drains

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing OR Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program required
- 2 years of experience working as an Advanced Practice Provider in Neurosurgery preferred
- First-Assist certification recommended
- DEA license required
