Job Summary: The Pharmacy Technician Team Lead, under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and/or Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, is responsible for assisting with the coordinating, directing and monitoring activities of the Pharmacy Technicians in their performance of medication preparation and dispensing. This role monitors workflow process of Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Clerks to ensure great patient care and customer service. The Team Lead can review reports to discuss areas of improvement with the Pharmacy Manager and/or Technician Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities
- Ability to achieve departmental objectives in a fast-paced environment and work effectively in all areas of the department.
- Motivates, coaches and assists in the training of team members to facilitate positive development of staff.
- Directs activities providing feedback on performance.
- Works as a frontline team member as a Pharmacy Technician as needed to support the operations and other team members.
- Provides timely feedback to team members in a constructive manner.
- Serves as a subject matter expert by providing support and development of staff.
- Monitors pharmacy technician/clerk activities and make adjustments to work flow by reassigning staff as necessary.
- Monitors job performance of pharmacy technicians/clerks. Assist in the evaluation process and individual counseling of staff.
- Assist in scheduling process to meet the needs of the pharmacy.
- Assist the pharmacist in filling prescriptions as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Ensures JPS Policies and Procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards are being followed while performing all job duties.
- Participates in performance improvement (PI) activities which improves patient care.
- Maintains the confidential nature of employee information within the department and performs disciplinary actions when appropriate.
- Works independently with guidance in only the most complex situations.
- May lead multiple projects and is accountable for ongoing objectives.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues.
- Leads staff and provides ongoing support to the department.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Current registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- National certification through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- Sterile Compounding Certification accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) (Inpatient and Oncology Pharmacy Only).
- 2 years of relevant experience.
- Nonsterile Compounding Certification.
- Leadership experience.
