Job Description:
Job Summary: The Rad Technologist I CT PRN utilizes Computed Tomography (CT) scanners to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities
- Follows a physician's instructions, prepares and operates Computed Tomography equipment, positions patients correctly and effectively records the requested diagnostic images.
- Start-up and calibrate Computed Tomography system daily.
- Reviews orders with Radiologist to determine proper protocol for each procedure.
- Performs Computed Tomography procedures in an efficient and timely manner.
- Administers IV contrast with proper dosage. Checks to see where dosage would be documented for a permanent record vs log book, which stays in Computed Tomography area.
- Orders and restocks supplies.
- Reports equipment failure to proper service organization and supervisor. Schedules service and preventive maintenance according to patient load and equipment availability when necessary.
- Enters and completes orders in Radiology computer system.
- Maintains QA records.
- Performs other job related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of a JCERT approved school of Radiologic Sciences Program.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Computer Tomography (CT) or eligible to take the registry and must become registered within 12 months of hire.
- Certified by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by first day of employment is required.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R) OR Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologists.
- Associate's degree in radiologic sciences.
