Job Description:
Job Summary: The Director, Rehabilitation Services is responsible for the daily operations of the Rehabilitation Services department including staffing, administrative functions, patient care & staff supervision.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
Promotes departmental and organizational activities for providing courteous customer service to patients, families, visitors and external customers.
Participate in Leadership Development activities; implement strategies and processes to improve employee morale and performance.
Participates in professional development and continuing education for self and staff to insure compliance with licensure laws and for continued improvement of staff skill and performance.
Prepare and administer departmental performance evaluations.
Reviews, updates and establishes departmental policies and procedures.
Develops functional objectives, implements, plans and monitors progress, and revises plans as necessary, relative to Rehabilitation Services Department.
Provides the vice president with written, ongoing progress reports for key initiatives and daily operations.
Directs and supports selection of personnel in the Rehabilitation Services Department; conducts ongoing assessments and assumes responsibility for professional growth and development of staff to include a workforce “staffing” plan for Rehabilitation Services Department.
Evaluates and executes a therapy plan of care for patients of all ages.
Develops and implements monitoring processes to ensure that department’s performance is consistent with the organization’s metrics-based management performance system.
Prepares and monitors annual budget to ensure appropriate performance against objectives.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- One of the following qualification groupings is required for this position as indicated below:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as rehabilitation sciences, healthcare administration, physical therapy, occupational therapy or a related area.
- 7 years of experience working in a rehabilitation setting such as physical, occupational, or speech therapy.
- Current licensure by the Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners or the Texas Board of Examiners.
- OR
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- 7 years of experience working in a rehabilitation setting such as physical, occupational, or speech therapy.
- SLP-CCC: Current Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Current Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology.
