Job Summary : The Emergency Medical Tech II performs various technical duties and tasks which include assisting with direct and indirect treatment and care of patients.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities :
- Performs EKGs, venipuncture (not applicable to the Emergency Department), IV skills, and bedside testing.
- Provides emergency first aid treatment.
- Responds to medical emergencies.
- Performs basic patient care with consideration for age and developmental stage.
- Transports patients by wheelchair or stretcher.
- Notifies nurse of abnormal findings or changes in patient status.
- Performs clerical functions.
- Accesses and navigates through Epic.
