Job Description

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities
- Collaborates with researchers, healthcare providers, and operational teams to identify opportunities for developing research and quality improvement projects that are relevant to the health system.
- Evaluates published evidence to determine validity, generalizability, and feasibility of translation to health system.
- Develops and conducts research and quality improvement projects, particularly projects that capitalize on routinely collected data (i.e., real-world data).
- Identifies funding opportunities and drafts funding proposals.
- Manages budgets for funded projects.
- Drafts study protocols, reports, abstracts for presentation at scientific meetings, and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Provides consultation to healthcare providers and operational teams about the design, analysis, and interpretation of studies.
- Manages multiple projects of varying complexity and communicates project updates to Director and relevant Managers including team dynamics, budget and resources, key technical decisions, and potential changes to timeline and deliverables.
- Works with biostatisticians to identify data sources, review healthcare codes and algorithms, evaluate validity of data including data collection instruments and procedures, develop statistical analysis plans, and interpret results.
- Enhances research and interpersonal skills through professional development activities.

Required Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, DrPH, ScD) in epidemiology, health services research, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- 2 plus years of experience working in the scientific research field.
- 2 plus years of experience conducting systematic reviews including use of software such as Covidence, RevMan, etc.
- 2 plus years of experience with research using electronic health records data.
- 3 or more papers published in PubMed-indexed journals as first author.
