Job Description

Job Summary: The Manager, Laundry oversees the staff and daily operations of the laundry department. This role is responsible for production, distribution, equipment acquisition, budget and regulatory compliance. This role manages the HR responsibilities within the department to include staff hiring, coaching, and evaluating in order to promote department success.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities

• Manages the daily activities and operations of laundry services.
• Partakes in equipment acquisition and analyzes the physical condition of equipment to schedule needed maintenance.
• Administers purchases of supplies including but not limited to chemicals, paper products and other departmental equipment.
• Assists with the preparation and monitoring of departmental budget ensuring expenditures are kept within budgetary guidelines.
• Evaluates, selects, and maintains the inventory of linen and chemicals to meet the network’s needs.
• Ensures quality and consistent compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
• Monitors and advises on linen distribution policies, procedures, training, and safety measures.
• Develops and maintains files and reports summarizing inspections, requirements, and inventory.
• Oversees the normal conduct of affairs, following policy guidelines on matters of attendance, attention to duties, personal conduct and adherence to prescribed work procedures by subordinates.
• Communicates with team members to provide updates on workflow operational challenges and assign task.
• Trains, counsels and evaluates employees consistently and in a timely manner using appropriate guidelines and documenting appropriately.
• Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
• Works frequently with individuals at director level or above.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or minimum of 5 years of linen management and laundry service.
• 5 years of Textile Processing experience to include 3 years of supervisory experience.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years of progressive Textile Processing Management/Supervision experience.
