Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Clinical Performance
- Serves as liaison with physicians/providers as necessary to achieve high clinical standards of services and patient-centric care.
- Holding providers accountable to their expected patient experience scores.
- Holding provider accountable to their expected weekly visits.
- Holding providers accountable for their quality of care.
- Communicates what is needed to achieve physician/provider integration into clinical activities.
- Communicates needs and progress toward continuously improving the performance of clinical activities.
- Reviews, approves, and/or completes pharmacy formulary request forms.
- Performs rounding on Medical Director/APP Co-Director Monthly.
- Participates in leadership rounding.
- Attends monthly department and clinic meetings within the Family Medicine/Community Medicine department.
- Communicates to physicians/providers the management processes for policy, structure, or system.
- Participates and reviews the 360-rounding evaluation process.
- Communicates leadership needs or problems involving team dynamics or behaviors to achieve an efficient, consistent, and mutually respectful environment of care.
- Monitors for physicians/providers who are not meeting practice, quality, or behavioral standards and communicates with Leadership.
- Participates with Leadership in searches for new or replacement positions within the Department in partnership with Acclaim recruiting.
- Supports the education and professional development of medical students, residents, fellows, and other health care learners, providing appropriate and timely mentoring either personally or through senior Departmental faculty.
- Collaborates bi-directionally with physicians/providers and Provider Leadership to communicate equipment/ financial needs and results.
- Works with the Chair to review budget and make sure that the department is remaining within budget or exceeding it.
- Support quality metrics, billing and coding practices to maximize departmental revenue and sustainability.
- Ensure effective management of department resources to achieve operational efficiency.
- Facilitates the OPPE process to identify performance trends that present opportunities for improvement within the department.
- Provides Quality Action plan facilitation throughout the department with the assistance of leadership.
- Along with the Chair, monitors metrics for patient and provider quality and satisfaction.
- Along with the Chair, monitors for compliance with the directives of the federal and state agencies that may affect the clinic/clinical area and or Department.
- Assists the Chair in communicating to physicians/providers patient care policies, procedures, and standards in collaboration with Network personnel and Executive Leadership.
- Hosts monthly specialty rounding meetings within the department.
- Conducts monthly productivity review and facilitates the creation/update of action plans.
- Attends payor JOCs, and action plans with the VBC/Clinical Ops team to improve quality metrics and complete forms.
- Collaborates with the clinical ops team for the improvement of patient outcomes and collaborates with billing and coding team for accuracy and missed opportunities.
- Participates in Acclaim and JPS Health Network programs as requested in community education and public relations regarding services available in the clinic/clinical area and or Department.
- Other duties as assigned by Acclaim Leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- Required Education and Experience: o Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited college of Medicine/Osteopathy.
- Board Certification in Family Medicine or Board Certification in Internal Medicine and eligibility for licensure in Texas are required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in a hospital or health system of considerable size and complexity.

- Preferred Education/Licensure/Certification and Experience: o Preference is given to those candidates who also have a working knowledge of management techniques and have prior successful service within a medical staff or service line structure as a department chair, medical executive committee
