Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities
- Performs complete data collection from patient with regard to age and developmental stage, presenting complaints, and pertinent history.
- Delivers nursing care to assigned group of patients including education directed towards identified knowledge deficits, treatment planning, pain management and discharge planning utilizing the nursing process.
- Delivers quality nursing care while minimizing the risk of infection, contamination, harm, or injury.
- Participates in the performance improvement process within the Network, Hospital, and department.
- Anticipates deteriorating life sign patterns or equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate action.
- Conduct specified bedside laboratory tests as needed.
- Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
- Records patients' medical information and vital signs as needed.
- Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, departments, staff, patients, and visitors.

Required Qualifications:
- Nursing Diploma from an Accredited Diploma Program or Associate or higher Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas or proof of reciprocity of licensure between the State of Texas and another state within 90 days.
- 4881 RN I: 6 months -1.99 years of relevant experience.
- 4882 RN II: 2-4.99 years of relevant experience.
- 4883 RN III: 5-9.99 years of relevant experience.
- 4884 RN IV: 10 years of relevant experience.
- Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Must maintain required certifications for the patient care areas assigned to throughout employment.
- Successful completion of general nursing and unit specific competency-based orientation program within 90 days.
