What are the responsibilities and job description for the Torque Specialist position at JR Automation?
As a Torque Specialist you will develop and execute a torque strategy for trim programs. You will be known as the subject matter expert, train others and identify opportunities for improvement.
What You’ll Do:
- Gather, define & document all torque requirements for GM Trim fastening processes
- Construct torque process strategy list & torque database (WITS) for each Trim program.
- Program torque controllers and tooling on Integration Floor thru FAT and on Plant floor thru SAT approval
- Develop and provide training to keep production teams and management current with requirement
- Perform / assist correlation studies for static / dynamic torque for fasteners having an issue.
- Review torque database periodically to identify potential issues or deficiencies.
- Support technical aspects of torque monitoring.
- Acquire foundation of Atlas Copco equipment knowledge.
- Participate in weekly project meetings and initiatives.
- Act as the in-house torque expert and provide support to Esys project teams & tooling suppliers as required.
- Assure proper tool calibrations and gages are initiated/performed to meet required maintenance plans (torque equipment, refractometers, etc)
- Proficient use of databases, information systems, tool monitoring systems with solid interpretation of data.
- Use of great people skills to establish solid working relationships with peers, leadership, customers and suppliers.
- Implement best practices, resolve problems, and sustain consistent performance to objectives
- Reduce waste by identifying and improving value-added and eliminating non-value-added tasks
- Responsible for following Esys safety policies and promoting safety within the Esys team
- Executes safe work practices as the highest priority
- Manage Atlas On-site support, scheduling, and tracking

What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training/experience, Technical degree preferred
- Experience with Atlas Copco Torque Controllers
