Position Overview: This position is responsible for using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to produce highly detailed and accurate drawings for the Sheet Metal Sector’s fabrication and installation teams. As part of the job responsibilities, the CAD Detailer develops plans that include drawings, blueprints, and other design documents.

As part of the job responsibilities, the CAD Detailer develops plans that include drawings, blueprints, and other design documents.
Essential Job Functions
- Read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
- Take field measurements and create 2D/3D drawings
- Use AutoCAD to develop drawings for commercial and residential roofing/sheet metal projects
- Revise existing drawings based on client specifications
- Manage computer files (DWG, DWF, PDF)
- Assist Project Managers and Engineers with pre-construction tasks as needed
- Ensure constructability and code compliance: Review designs for issues and adhere to building codes and industry standards.
- Detail for weatherproofing and durability: Design connections and transitions for optimal roof performance.
- Facilitate communication: Provide clear drawings for construction and collaborate with project stakeholders.
- Prior experience in sheet metail detailing is a plus

- Technical Degree or Certificate in Drafting or equivalent on-the-job training required
- 2-5 years of related work experience preferred
- Proven proficiency using AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Bluebeam Software and MicroSoft Office products (proficient in Excel and Word)
- Pass initial drug test and participate in random drug test program
- Frequently lift and carry 25lbs or greater
- Frequent bending, kneeling, walking
- Overtime and weekend work
