This role requires a meticulous approach to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
Essential Job Functions
- Verify and clarify all project information received from sales representatives to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
- Maintain and update current market pricing for glass, glazing, and related materials within the estimating system.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and manufacturers to optimize project costs.
- Draft and coordinate the compilation of complex project documents, manufacturer submittals, and shop drawings.
- Participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings to clarify project scope and address potential issues.
- Use the EDGE to estimate all jobs for the Glass and Glazing Department.
- Network and market company services to existing and potential clients, fostering strong relationships.
- Participate in job reviews and contribute to operational improvements within the company.
- Conduct thorough risk analysis on complex glass and glazing projects.
- Generate custom job cost reports for accurate project tracking and auditing.
- Ensure compliance with company processes, contract terms, and project specifications.
- Participate in required sector and job meetings.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with state laws and company driver policies.
- Understanding of OSHA safety requirements and adherence to all work safety protocols.
- Computer proficient in the following software: Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, The EDGE, and Pipedrive.
- Knowledge of commercial glass and glazing systems, including curtain wall, storefront, and interior glazing applications, as well as industry codes and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, drawing plans, and product specifications.

- 3 years of experience in construction and/or glass and glazing estimating preferred.
- 5 years of experience in the glass and glazing industry.
- General construction and sales experience preferred.
- Continuing industry education relevant to glass and glazing estimating job duties (even after hire).
- Pass initial drug test and participate in random drug test program.
- Primarily indoor office environment.
