Position Objective/Description:
The Survey Rodman will be responsible for supporting Surveyors and surveying crews during the measurement of land and grade.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work is predominately indoors within a usually quiet to moderately noisy environment. Fast paced environment with occasional high pressure situations. Considerable amount of time is spent working/sitting in front of computer. Generally work regular business hours, however they will also be expected to work overtime to meet project deadlines.

Position Objective/Description:
The Survey Rodman will be responsible for supporting Surveyors and surveying crews during the measurement of land and grade.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Visit work/construction sites for land measurements.
- Using basic mathematics and reading numerals.
- Provide accurate survey rod readings on the request and direction of surveyor.
- Work in varying weather conditions and work environments including dusty, wet, loud noises, etc.
- Keep company vehicle, tools and equipment clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures and safety requirements.
- Perform any other general duties as specified.
- 2 years’ experience assisting in surveying procedures, operations and providing survey rod readings.
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record by complying with standards established by SBCC policy.
- Must have the ability to stand, crawl and kneel for long periods of time
- Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.
- Constant physical effort, including extended sitting for at least 8 hour shift
- Intermittent standing and walking
- Climb intermittently
- Occasionally twist, bend, stoop, kneel and crouch to perform duties
- Occasionally reach above shoulder level
- May lift and carry small objects under 20 pounds on a regular basis
- Agility, balance, and manual dexterity, as well as arm-hand steadiness
- Able to hear and respond to oral instructions
- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; reach and grasp
- Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination.
- Good vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Work may require site visits and/or trips to jobsites.
