The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients in the community while enjoying a supportive and collaborative work environmentResponsibilities : - Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, including diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses.- Conduct thorough medical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop and implement appropriate treatment plans.- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.- Educate patients on preventive healthcare measures and promote healthy lifestyle choices.- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.- Stay informed about the latest advancements in family medicine and participate in continuing medical education opportunities.- Evaluation, Emergency Treatment and Management : Employment of the principles of Primary care for management of acute and chronic conditions.- Initial evaluation and ongoing management of respiratory diseases, gastrointestinal diseases,burns, musculoskeletal disease, dermatological diseases, ENT, eye and urological problems.- Initial evaluation and ongoing management of chronic diseases, such as, coronary artery disease, atherovascular disease, Type I and II diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, PTSD, depression and other chronic medical and psychiatric conditions.- Tour of Duty : Contractors physician(s) shall be present on time for any scheduled tour of duty as documented by physical presence in Primary Care at the scheduled start time.- Medications : Contractors physician(s) shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.Communication of Test Results : Mechanisms must be in-place to provide notification of test results for patients receiving care in accordance with VHA Directive 1088, Communicating Test Results to Providers and Patients.- Certifications : All contractors physician(s) shall be Board Certified in Internal Medicine / Family Medicine. Physicians Board Certified / Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice must be certified in BLS and ACLS.
