Estimator

Essential Functions : The Estimator will assist the Estimating team in all aspects of the bid / estimating process from the review of plans and specifications, estimating material cost and craft labor productivity, soliciting and negotiating prices from subcontractors / suppliers through the completion of the bid / estimating effort for a variety of water / wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects.Responsibilities : Pre Bid : Performs quantity take-offsApplies self-perform labor man-hours and productivity to estimatesObtains competitive commodity pricing and solicits quotations for any specialty equipment and materialDirects, coordinates and provides access to information and documents to subcontractors and solicits subcontractors bidsPerforms reviews with subcontractors and vendors to verify scopes of work and ensure scope and price are completeEvaluates the lowest cost, qualified subcontractor / bidCommunicates with engineers to clarify scope of work, materials, schedule requirements and documents these clarificationsProposal developmentActively participates in the internal estimate review processAssists with final assembly of estimate including proposal presentationPost Bid : Collects and organizes all bid information for future referencePrepares summary of bid hand-off on successful bidsExplains scope and cost estimate for project presentationAids in maintaining historical dataParticipates in buy-out of subcontracts and material purchase orderSupports project management team in pricing and negotiating change ordersOther duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager or his / her designeeQualifications : Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field or comparable field experience and trainingMinimum of 5-8 years construction experience with at least 2-4 years estimating in water / wastewater or heavy civil industry specific to process equipment and process pipingDesign-build and Construction Manager at risk experience a plusPre-Construction experience a plusProficiency in Microsoft Office suite (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as the use of the internetSage Estimating experience desirablePlanswift experience helpful.Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDBIA, ASPE or any professional estimator certification experience a plusWorking Conditions : 100% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) telephones, and general office equipment.Salary : $110,000-$160,000 depending on experience.Filanc is proud to be a drug free workplace. Salary : $110,000 - $160,000
