What are the responsibilities and job description for the SHIPPING CLERK position at Jr Manufacturing Inc?
Loads / unloads trucks by using a forklift.
Unloads received goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against suppliers count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, manager, and inventory control per company policy.
Transport raw materials to different locations within the facility
Receives customer orders from Production Manager or Production Schedule and retrieves goods from finished goods.
Create and verifies packing list for accuracy and inspects collected goods.
Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments by performing dock audits.
Notifies inventory control and manager of all discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
Transports materials on shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed.
Contacts and sets up outgoing logistics with trucking companies
Ensures all required paperwork is issued for each and all shipments
Performs required Syteline duties in regards to Shipping paperwork
Sends ASN's to customers as applicable
Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage
Document data and information in all required forms.
Understand, follow and support company non-conformance, safety, 5S methodology, Quality Policy protocols and rules.
Follow and ensure the proper tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) are being utilized.
Work with departments to assist in root-cause and countermeasure current issues.
Have the ability to work without supervision.
Provide leadership for a successful day to day operation.
Be constructive in feedback and instructions.
Be fair, honest and positive with all team members.
Must portray a professional attitude at all times.
Perform any extra or added tasks to the best of your ability per the Manufacturing/Material Manager.
- Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received
- Basic understanding of shipping and receiving procedures.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Working well in a close team environment.
- High school education or GED. Secondary education is a plus.
- State motor vehicle operators permit for operation of forklift highly preferred
- Have the ability to aid in problem solving.
- Being conscience of means of improvement, whether in production or any other way.
- Must be able to work over with little to no notice.
- Have the ability to keep up in a fast paced environment.
- Able to lift or move 40lbs unassisted. Able to lift or move 50lbs with aid.
- Must be able to traverse facility and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
- Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Computer/ Walking/ Sitting/ Stairs in a Manufacturing / Warehouse facility
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of Logistic operations
- Previous experience in Inventory Management
- Knowledge of Kanban Systems
