What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead RaceEngineering position at JR Motorsports?
This is a Lead Race Engineer position that reports to the Crew Chief and has a concentration in simulation, team organization and race setup planning. This position is involved in the overall chassis build and setup for every race weekend. A strong understanding of vehicle dynamic and race strategy a must.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Simulation work to properly model the chassis build
- Organize setup options and evaluate options for a given track layout
- Utilize the programs available to record chassis setup and race information for team support
- Assists the Crew Chief in identifying the best setup combinations using simulation.
- Assists the Crew Chief in understand all team chassis setups
- Assists in the management of parts inventory relating to chassis builds.
- Organize and prepare options for all aspects of the chassis to prepare for practice, qualifying, and race session.
- Help plan and understand changing conditions and strategies in a real time race condition.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school)
Experience: 2 plus years of experience strongly preferred.
Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills with Windows Based Programs, Understanding of Roehrig Software is preferred, and ability to learn and use other advanced software programs.
Certifications & Licenses: N/A
Other Requirements: Mechanical Engineering or related degree preferred. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, flexible work schedule and an understanding of vehicle dynamics and engineering principles required. Must be able to travel.
