Position Overview

The Human Resources Generalist is a key member of the HR team, responsible for overseeing and executing a wide range of HR functions, including payroll administration, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture, preferably within a government contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities

HR Payroll Management :

  • Oversee and manage the entire payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance utilizing QuickBooks for time and labor management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely generation of payroll reports and records.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.

Onboarding and Offboarding Coordination :

  • Oversee the onboarding process for new clients and JRSS staff, ensuring all necessary paperwork and compliance requirements are met.
  • Manage offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions and proper documentation.
  • Implement and maintain efficient onboarding and offboarding procedures to enhance employee experience.
  • Employee Relations and Compliance :

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Handle employee relations issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Maintain and update HR policies and procedures as needed.
  • Client and Subcontractor Coordination :

  • Facilitate the renewal of government-cleared badges for both U.S. and non-U.S. citizen access, ensuring compliance with security requirements.
  • Coordinate and book travel for employees to pick up badges.
  • Collaborate with clients and partner companies to ensure smooth HR operations.
  • Interaction Management :

  • Act as a liaison between clients, leadership, and employees to ensure clear communication and efficient processes.
  • Facilitate interactions and coordination between clients, subcontractors, and employees to resolve any issues related to HR operations.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees and clients regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Take the lead in addressing challenges and implementing solutions.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in human resources, with exposure to payroll, employee relations, and onboarding.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Additional Skills

  • Familiarity with Federal Government contracting and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, iSolved).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
