What are the responsibilities and job description for the Freight Broker position at JRayl Transport?
Responsibilities of a JRayl Freight Broker include:
- Total ownership of all assigned loads.
- Covering freight to be delivered by utilizing all resources (TMW, email distribution, internet load boards, etc.).
- Negotiating rates with carriers.
- Meeting or exceeding load count and margin goals.
- Developing and managing relationships with core or key carriers.
- Performing prescribed number of daily outbound calls to carriers and creating lead sheets for development of carrier relationships.
- Assisting with tracking & dispatching if the workload dictates.
Qualifications:
- One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong proven ability to maintain accuracy of carrier information is required.
- The ability to work within and meet deadlines is a must.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is located in a busy, open office area and will be faced with interruptions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
