About Our Client:
Our client based in Tampa Fl. is a well respected commercial general contractor with over 25 years on high end commercial projects throughout the Southeast. Projects range from 5 million to 30 million. With a focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction, they continue to deliver cutting-edge projects throughout the Southeast. As they expand their operations, they seek a highly skilled Estimator with commercial construction experience to join their team and take charge of project success.
Responsibilities of the Estimator:
- Analyze and interpret project plans, specifications, and requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Sage, Bluebeam) for bid preparation and cost tracking.
- Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans for budget overruns or project delays.
- Stay updated on industry trends, labor costs, and material pricing in the Tampa market.
- Assist in negotiating contracts with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, with a focus on commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Knowledge of the Tampa construction market and local subcontractor relationships is a plus.
