We are seeking a Therapeutic Counselor Intern for our Equine Therapy Program , Trot On to provide services to adolescents and transitional age youth (12-24) who are struggling at home, in school and / or in the community due to substance use disorders or at-risk behavior.
The Therapeutic Counselor provides a variety of community-based services to children, adolescents and their families. These services include Skill coaching, Job Coaching, Life Skills training, activity planning, community exploration & integration, behavior management, assessment, treatment planning services, crisis management and case management services.
Therapeutic Counselors are responsible for maintaining positive relationships with outside agencies, families, and other involved parties. You will serve as an integral member of a client's treatment team and be responsible for all documentation as required by policy and procedure. Your schedule is flexible depending on your availability and that of the client / family. We are seeking a Part Time Therapeutic Counsellor for our Equine Therapy Program, Trot On, to provide community-based services to adolescents and transitional age youth (12-24) who are struggling at home, in school and / or in the community due to substance use disorders or at-risk behavior. We provide A-CRA (Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach) to youth served, and your involvement will support these interventions.
Training in ARC and SMART available through JRI. Supervision will be provided by Trot On Program Director who maintains LICSW and PATH Intl. CTRI.
What we are looking for :
- Must be 21 years of age and possess High School Diploma or GED
- Must also have an acceptable CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information), national background check, and appropriate driving record.
- Maintains valid driver's license. Access to a working, registered, insured vehicle. Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as necessary.
