What are the responsibilities and job description for the (Nightshift) Centerless / OD Grinder Operator/Setup position at JRT HUNT INC.?
JRT HUNT INC. manufacturing is a local aerospace and defense machine shop and we are in need of a skilled Grinder Operator/setup. We are searching for a motivated highly skilled machinist with 5 yrs experience in OD and Centerless grinding, with an Aerospace manufacturing environment. We need employees that are flexible with a strong personal motivation for success, integrity, high energy, professional attitudes and great attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- (calibration, cycle times etc.) to start an improve production cycle times
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
- Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
- Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
- Test operation of machines periodically
- Fix issues that might occur during the shift
- Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
- Maintain activity logs
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Grinder operator/set up
- Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery
- Understanding of production procedures
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Physical stamina and strength
- High school diploma or equivalent
Position offered is full time, 4-10 hour shift 3:30pm - 2:00am Monday - Thursday
