OVERVIEW:
JS Solutions is seeking a talented and experienced Power BI & Power Platform Developer to support a government customer. This role requires a strong background in building data visualizations, automating workflows, and developing custom business applications within the Microsoft Power Platform environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and related Microsoft technologies to support data-driven decision-making and process optimization for our federal client.
As a Power BI & Power Platform Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing modern business intelligence solutions that meet mission-critical needs. You will work directly with stakeholders to understand requirements and transform complex data into actionable insights, reports, and tools. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions in a high-visibility, government contracting environment.

JOB DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
- Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports, with a focus on data modeling, DAX development, and performance optimization
- Build and maintain custom Power Apps (canvas and model-driven apps) to support user-friendly, low-code business solutions
- Develop and optimize Power Automate workflows to automate routine business processes and improve operational efficiency
- Integrate Power Platform solutions with data sources such as SharePoint, SQL Server, Dataverse, Excel, and external APIs
- Collaborate with internal and government stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver tailored solutions
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and records management best practices, especially within a government contract environment
- Provide technical documentation, training, and end-user support for deployed Power Platform solutions
- Troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and continuously improve solution design
- Participate in Agile or project-based development cycles as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience developing and supporting Power BI and Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) solutions
- Experience with data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and performance tuning in Power BI
- Proficiency in designing low-code/no-code applications and custom workflows
- Experience connecting to various data sources including Dataverse, SharePoint, and SQL Server
- Strong understanding of Power Platform governance, roles, and permissions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with experience presenting solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Power Platform administration tools
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience in Power BI/Power Platform development
- Experience in a government contracting or DoD program environment
- Familiarity with Azure, Microsoft 365 compliance, or PowerShell scripting
- Microsoft certifications such as:
- PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
- PL-400: Power Platform Developer Associate
- PL-600: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
