Companion/Caregiver

Job Title: Direct Support Professional Companion Monday through Friday 10am-2pm

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure their well-being in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks and grooming
- Implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each resident
- Engage residents in recreational activities and social interactions
- Monitor and document residents' progress and any changes in behavior
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary requirements are met
- Uphold resident rights and promote a safe and respectful environment
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to address residents' medical needs
- Utilize behavior management techniques to support residents in achieving their goals

Requirements:
- Previous experience in care, childcare, or direct support roles preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care principles is a plus
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and dietary restrictions
- Understanding of resident rights and long-term care practices
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities in a compassionate manner
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting
