Salary note: Up to three (3) additional professional development days at start of school

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Current licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
- Minimum of three (3) years of full-time clinical experience in dental hygiene
- Demonstrated knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, patient care, and industry standards
- Prior teaching or instructional experience (secondary or postsecondary)
RIDE Certification Requirements:
- Secondary Grades Career and Technical Edcucation Teacher, Grades 7-12 - Health Occupations - Dental Hygienist
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree Science or related education
- Experience with curriculum development and instructional design
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and digital learning platforms
- Willingness to obtain MLL certification (upon request)
- Structured Literacy Awareness or willingness to complete within one year (as required by RI law)
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based curriculum in dental hygiene
- Provide hands-on clinical instruction and supervision aligned with industry practices
- Use current technology and instructional strategies to differentiate instruction
- Establish clear learning objectives and evaluate student progress through assessments and clinical competencies
- Maintain compliance with accreditation, licensure, and safety regulations
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance program outcomes and student support
- Mentor students on academic, professional, and ethical standards in oral health
- Coordinate guest speakers, field experiences, and industry partnerships
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and curriculum planning
- Create and maintain a culturally responsive and inclusive classroom environment
Salary : $46,811 - $88,236
