Cost Accountant

Job Description

Johnson Service Group (JSG), a nationally recognized staffing firm, is looking for a Junior Accountant with Manufacturing industry experience. This is a 3-6 month contract opportunity with phenomenal organization in Elgin, Illinois.

This will be an excellent opportunity for a Junior or Entry-Level Accountant to grow and be mentored by a highly knowledgeable leader and senior team member who are eager to teach and train on the job.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close support including: inventory reconciliation (cost/pound), cost accruals, variance analysis
• Monthly journal entries
• Weekly labor metrics
• Ad hod analysis and reporting
• Balance sheet account analysis
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting
• 1 year experience and demonstrated knowledge of accounting associated with the manufacturing industry
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to build relationships
• Strong sense of confidentiality
  
  

Additional Information

• 40 hours/week
• Onsite to begin with, then hybrid 3 days/week

• $28-35/hr depending upon experience
