Department: Fiber - Fiber Network Design and Implementation Services
Location: Nephi, UT
We seek a talented CAD Technician who possesses a genuine interest in performing computer-aided drafting to support rural fiber projects (FTTH, FTTP, FTTx).
Responsibilities & Duties
- Use company standards to interpret and draw various types of engineering documents. With minimal oversight, make minor corrections to Unit Tabulations, Staking Sheets, Cable Schematics, Detail Maps, and cleaning up land bases used for maps.
- Assist personnel with making copies, outside printing, preparing shipments, etc.
Education:
- Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience with other GIS products, such as ESRI and MicroStation, is desired.
- Experience with preparing CAD documentation for telecommunication services is desired.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (drawing shapes, line manipulation, layers, blocks).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Willingness to learn the basics of telecommunications systems.
- Must be able to work at a computer station all day, clearly view the monitor, and use fine hand manipulation of a mouse to draw various engineering drawings.
- Proficient computer skills are required.
- Requires good oral and written communication skills.
- Close attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work on multiple projects.
