Description:
To support our strategic expansion, we are seeking talented telecom Outside-Plant (OSP) Inspectors who provide expert supervision of construction crews. Inspectors ensure construction contractors place fiber optic cable according to customers' requests and engineering work prints.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Work on-site with crews daily in varied weather conditions.
- Ensure correct depths of facilities and placement takes sequential numbers stamped into cabling and installs the correct number of pedestals/handholes in desired locations.
- Assist in establishing schedules, coordination, monitoring of workflow, and tracking cost expenditures.
- Prepare reports and documents and maintain project records.
- Resolve design and staking sheet problems in the field during construction and interpret company guidelines for specific applications.
- Provide quality control to ensure adherence to construction/engineering standards/specifications.
- Interact with landowners, permit agencies, and other company departments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- Previous work in Telecom Inspection with RUS experience preferred.
Skills:
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of construction practices desired within the telecommunications industry.
- Must read schematics, maps, and work prints (staking sheets).
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel and possess basic computer skills.
- Capable of performing repetitive physical motions including bending, standing, climbing, and walking on uneven terrain in varied weather conditions.
