Position Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-oriented Server/Banquet Server to join our team at the Holiday Inn Restaurant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent service to our guests, ensuring their dining experience is enjoyable and memorable. The Server will take orders, serve food and beverages, maintain cleanliness in the dining area, and assist with any special requests to ensure guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide guests with menus, take food and beverage orders, and answer any questions regarding the menu.
- Accurately enter orders into the POS system and relay them to kitchen staff.
- Serve food and beverages in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
- Ensure that all tables are properly set, clean, and organized, including condiment stations and napkins.
- Monitor guest needs and provide refills, additional condiments, or special requests promptly.
- Check on guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction and handle any concerns in a professional and effective manner.
- Process guest payments, handle cash and credit card transactions, and provide correct change.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including dining room, bar, and server stations.
- Follow all restaurant policies and procedures for food safety and sanitation.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of the dining area for different meal periods (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
- Collaborate with fellow staff and management to ensure smooth service and high standards.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and procedures.
- Handle guest complaints or special requests with professionalism and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a server or customer service role preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work well within a team and maintain a positive attitude.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (where applicable).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, carry trays, and move between dining areas quickly.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods during a shift.
