We’re seeking an experienced Warehouse Director to lead and elevate operations at a 100,000-square-foot food distribution facility in Brookfield, IL. What You’ll Be Doing

• Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping
• Lead a team of supervisors and warehouse staff, driving productivity, safety, and engagement
• Building and organizing a warehousing department
• Develop and enforce SOPs to ensure food safety, cold chain integrity, and on-time deliveries
• Implement WMS tools and optimize processes to improve accuracy, reduce waste, and meet service expectations
• Monitor KPIs related to order accuracy, warehouse efficiency, labor utilization, and safety compliance
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and space utilization based on volume and seasonality
• Collaborate with senior leadership on operational goals, safety initiatives, and capital planning
• Support fleet coordination, ensuring loading operations are aligned with outbound scheduling
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and hands-on problem solving on the floor

What You’ll Bring

• BA/BS degree in Logistics, Operations, or Supply Chain required
• 7-10 years of warehouse leadership food experience is required, ideally in food, refrigerated, or frozen distribution environment
• Strong knowledge of WMS, ERP, and warehouse automation systems
• Proven success managing large teams in a high-volume distribution setting
• Ability to lead through change and drive process improvements across departments
• Solid understanding of safety, food handling standards, and warehouse compliance regulations
• Strong computer skills: MS Excel, Word, Outlook

Bonus Skills

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• Experience with Lean tools like Kaizen or Six Sigma
• Familiarity with warehouse automation, RF systems, or pick-to-light technology
• Forklift certification or strong operational knowledge of warehouse equipment
