The Baggage Handling System (BHS) Program Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and successful execution of baggage handling system projects within an airport or related facility. This role involves managing project timelines, budgets, resources, and ensuring that all components of the baggage system (including hardware, software, and infrastructure) are implemented and functioning as per the project specifications and requirements.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Coordination:
- Lead the planning and execution of Baggage Handling System (BHS) projects from initiation through to completion.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, including airport operations, engineering, and contractors.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of the BHS installation or upgrade.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure the project is executed as per the approved plan.

Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all BHS-related project matters.
- Liaise with airport authorities, IT teams, engineering teams, and external vendors to ensure seamless communication and alignment of goals.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, risks, and milestones.
Resource Management:- Oversee the allocation and management of project resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget.
- Monitor project performance and identify areas where improvements can be made to enhance efficiency and minimize delays.

Risk Management & Issue Resolution:
- Identify and assess project risks and proactively manage mitigation strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Baggage Handling System to avoid project delays.
- Manage project changes effectively and ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure that the BHS project adheres to relevant quality standards and complies with airport safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform quality checks and tests during various phases of the project to ensure system functionality and operational efficiency.

Post-Implementation Support:
- Ensure the successful handover of the completed system to the operations team.
- Assist with system testing, troubleshooting, and ensure smooth transition during the commissioning phase.
- Provide necessary training and documentation to the airport team for effective system management and maintenance.
- The role may require occasional travel to project sites or different airports.
- Flexibility in working hours, especially during project deadlines and system commissioning phases.
- Safety and compliance training as required.
- Perform other related job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field desired. A Master's degree is a plus. Or Equivalent Experience.
- Proven experience (3 years) in project management, specifically with baggage handling systems or similar technology-related projects.
- Familiarity with airport operations, baggage handling systems, and aviation standards.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally in an airport or transportation environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, sit for long periods of time, bend, use hands to manipulate (type), talk and hear; walk and sit.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral visions, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
