What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician position at JSMAssociates?
In our role as an IT Field Services Specialist, you will serve as the “boots on the ground” resource for our company, filling a wide range of onsite service needs as an extension of our full Support Team. As the “face” of our company to our clients in their offices, you will carry out our mission by providing them an excellent experience. Our clients are contained to the local Nashville area but may require traveling to and being onsite multiple days per week at the same client’s office.
As the Field Services Specialist, you will work with the Support Team to provide onsite technical support for any client issues such as desktop support, moves, adds and changes as well as to provide remote support when needed.

- Excellent client service skills and a commitment to dedication and urgency in resolving client/end user technical issues
- Dedication to utilizing team resources, tools and documentation to drive resolution quickly and effectively
- The ability to set and manage the expectations of the client for how and when each ticket will be handled
- Perform efficient moves, adds, and changes within client environments while providing excellent end-user experience, minimizing disruption to client business and follow-up issues
- Participate in an on-call rotation and be available for periodic after hours and weekend projects
Technical Requirements:
Minimum of AS, BS, or certifications in a related discipline and/or 2 or more years of related technical support experience or a suitable combination of education and relevant experience; Certifications preferred but not required; Intermediate knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within information technology support in a Windows environment, including but not limited to:
- Intermediate knowledge of Windows Server Technology and Microsoft OS and Office products.
- Intermediate knowledge of TCP/IP, network routing, firewall functions (NAT), including basic understanding of common protocols such as HTTP(S), RDP, DNS, SMTP, etc.
- Understanding of concepts such as Active Directory, Virtualization, VOIP, DNS, DHCP, etc.
- Understanding of computer hardware and troubleshooting
- Ability to perform effectively without supervision and within established time limits and ongoing deadlines.
