The Role: Join JSUSA as a Meat Cutter, where precision and quality meet. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and presenting our meat products. This position demands a keen eye for detail and a dedication to maintaining the highest standards of freshness and quality.
Major Responsibilities:
- Process various types of meat by trimming, cutting, and chopping, utilizing appropriate tools and equipment.
- Manage inventory control with a strict adherence to the FIFO (First In, First Out) system to ensure optimal freshness.
- Prepare and present meat products in display cases with appealing and accurate labeling.
- Uphold the cleanliness and sanitation of all workspaces and equipment.
- Mentor and provide training to junior team members on meat cutting techniques and safety protocols.
You Should Have/Be:
- Flexible with shift work, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Proficient in safely operating meat cutting machinery.
- Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
- Experienced in a meat department or similar role, with strong communication skills. Proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
- Knowledgeable about health and safety regulations pertinent to food handling.
- Able to work in environments with low (0-4 ℃) and freezing temperatures (-18 ℃) and high humidity.
- Non-allergic to meat products and familiar with workplace health and safety protocols.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive and motivated approach to work.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
