Role: Talend Developer
Location: Indianapolis, IN(Onsite)
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop ETL workflows and mappings using Talend Data Integration (Talend Open Studio / Talend Studio / TMC).
- Migrate data from legacy systems (Oracle, MySQL, flat files, etc.) to modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Postgres).
- Perform data cleansing, transformation, validation, and loading in both batch and real-time modes.
- Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot Talend jobs in Linux/Unix-based environments.
- Work closely with DevOps to automate deployment processes using Shell scripting, Bash, or related tools.
- Conduct performance tuning of Talend jobs and SQL queries.
- Participate in data mapping exercises, data profiling, and gap analysis to support migration strategies.
- Collaborate with business analysts, DBAs, and data architects to ensure end-to-end delivery of data solutions.
- Document all development, deployment, and operational procedures for production handover.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in ETL development using Talend (Talend Studio or TMC preferred).
- Strong experience with data migration projects, especially from legacy systems to cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments; ability to write and debug shell scripts.
- Expertise in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performing data validation.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and normalization.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with version control tools like Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
