JSW Steel is seeking a Grinder to join our team!
Responsibilities:
- Activate machine start-up switches to grind, lap, hone, debar, shear, or cut work pieces, according to specifications.
- Compute machine indexing and settings for specified dimensions
- Lift and position work pieces, manually or with hoists, and secure them on machine tables.
- Maintain stocks of machine parts and machining tools
- Mount and position tools in machine chucks, spindles, or other tool holding devices, using hand tools.
- Move machine controls to index work pieces, and to adjust machines for pre-selected operational settings.
- Observe machine operations to detect any problems; make necessary adjustments to correct problems.
- Repair or replace machine parts, using hand tools, or notify engineering personnel when corrective action is required.
- Set and adjust machine controls according to product specifications, utilizing knowledge of machine operation.
- Thread and hand-feed materials through machine cutters or abraders
Requirements:
- GED or HS Diploma
- Ability to use and read tape measures.
- Must be able to work in fast paced work environment.
- Six months experience in surface grinding, is preferred
