FT - 7 p.m.- 7 a.m.
72 hours per pay period
Every 3rd Weekend and Alternating Holiday Rotation Required
Duties and Key Responsibilities
Works under the supervision of the Director of Emergency Services and other Registered Nursing Staff.
Is responsible for assisting in the performance of delegated patient care activities, including activities of daily living and basic procedures, as well as identified competencies required in Emergency Services.
Is responsible for performing the clerical and receptionist functions of the work area and other related technical and clinical support activities as directed by the RN.
Monitors and records cardiac rhythms observed on cardio-respiratory monitoring equipment and reports abnormal findings to RN staff.
Collaborates and interacts positively with the interdisciplinary team to provide quality care and achieve desired outcomes.
May be required to work other shifts / units as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting with patient care.
Requirements
Ability to work every 3rd weekend and alternate holiday rotations.
Must be willing to cross-train and float to other work areas including the Birthing Center, Med Surg, and Psychiatric Services.
Education / Certifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred : Advanced degree in Medical Assistant Program or successful completion of at least one quarter or semester of clinical work in a health-related program with a grade of C or higher.
Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA, EMT-B, or STNA preferred, not required.
Experience
Required : A minimum of one year’s experience in an appropriate healthcare setting such as a physician's office, hospital, or clinic.
Preferred : Two or more years' experience in an appropriate healthcare setting such as a physician's office, hospital, or clinic.
