Engineering Support – Contribute to initiatives such as scrap reduction, productivity improvements, machine builds, and quality enhancements—making a direct impact on plant performance. Process Optimization – Support and refine existing equipment and processes to maximize efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance overall operations. Design & Analysis – Conduct engineering analysis, perform calculations, and develop technical drawings to drive process improvements. Project Management – Lead and support projects, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives while meeting strict deadlines. Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with engineers, managers, and supervisors to troubleshoot issues, support new product launches, and drive operational excellence. Lean Manufacturing – Actively engage in lean initiatives, focusing on process improvements, waste reduction, and increased efficiency. Effective Communication – Clearly and professionally communicate with team members at all levels, ensuring collaboration and progress toward shared engineering goals.   Job Skills and Qualifications Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering. Junior or senior-level students are preferred. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to apply engineering principles to solve real-world manufacturing challenges. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Software & Design Tools: Experience with Pro/Engineer, AutoCAD, CNC programming, and/or PLC programming is highly desirable. Engineering Application: Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to improve manufacturing processes and operations. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. Independence & Teamwork: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment. Attention to Detail: Strong initiative, accuracy, and a proactive approach to project ownership and execution.   Work Hours and Benefits Schedule: 1st shift, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. An elective full range of core benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage. 401(k)   Work Environment & Physical Demands This role blends hands-on work on the manufacturing floor with technical desk-based responsibilities. Candidates should be comfortable working in both settings. Manufacturing Floor Responsibilities: Hands-on problem-solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration with production teams. Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, fumes, limited dust, and oily coolants. Requires walking, climbing, bending, and occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs. Safety requirements: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel toe shoes, safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection.   Office Responsibilities: Data analysis, project planning, and documentation using engineering software and tools. Substantial time spent working on a computer, requiring hand, arm, and finger dexterity.   Why JTEKT?
