Position Overview:
We’re looking for a reliable Machine Setter Operator in our Planet Shaft Department to help produce high-quality parts that meet customer specifications. In this role, you'll operate a variety of equipment, including induction units, grinders, tempering units, washers, and robotic packing stations, while ensuring the precision and quality of each part.
This position also offers the opportunity for overtime, allowing you to earn extra income while gaining valuable experience and contributing to the team’s success. If you have mechanical skills and enjoy working as part of a team, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Setter/Operator, you’ll ensure that all production meets the high standards our customers expect. Your key duties will include:
Operate & Setup Equipment: Use Process Prints and Operation Sheets to ensure parts are produced to exact customer specifications.
Quality Assurance: Operate and monitor various machines, including grinders, washers, and induction units, while measuring parts to meet customer quality standards.
Team Collaboration: Work alongside operators and technicians to assist in material handling, loading/unloading, palletizing, and ensuring smooth operations across the department.
Maintenance & Support: Help maintain and support the Autonomous PM system to ensure equipment is running at peak efficiency.
Safety & Continuous Improvement: Always promote a safe, organized, and efficient workspace through 5S principles
What We’re Looking For:
Mechanical Skills: Ability to operate, set up, and troubleshoot a variety of machines.
Attention to Detail: Ability to read and interpret process prints and accurately measure parts to ensure precision.
Team-Oriented: Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
Self-Starter: Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Flexibility & Overtime: Due to customer demand, this department frequently offers overtime, providing you with an opportunity to earn more and grow professionally. You may also need to be available for occasional off-hours calls.
Experience: Previous mechanical experience is required. Previous experience with Grinding is a plus but not required. A high school diploma or GED is essential.

Work is performed in a normal manufacturing area.
This position has an exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, electrical power distribution and controls, compressed air systems, various types of lubricants, chemical and wash baths, mechanical machine operation, etc.
Will be regularly required to climb, stand, sit, and reach with hands, fingers, and arms.
Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required.
This position requires regular lifting of work up to 40 pounds, and push or pulling work up to 500 pounds with proper equipment.
