Position Summary
The ideal candidate shall have industrial electrical experience in several manufacturing fields, have graduated from an accredited apprenticeship program and have a current journeyman’s license. This person should have experience in new construction as well as adds, moves and changes in existing facilities. This person should possess a good working knowledge of the typical manufacturing process and have good troubleshooting skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reports directly to the jobsite Foreman, Superintendent or Project Manager depending on the job.
- Provide detailed paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing and inventory
- Be able to request the proper tools and materials needed.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a professional and workman-like manner.
- Direct and train apprentices to install, maintain, or repair electrical and control systems.
- Install electrical equipment, fans/blowers, motors, generators, MCCC’s, Distribution Equipment, Transformers, UPS Systems and the like.
- Inspect electrical and control systems, to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Troubleshoot electrical and control systems using the test meters and equipment to ensure a functioning system, compatibility, and safety.
- Plan the layout and installation of electrical and control wiring based on blueprints, schematics, job specifications and local codes.
- Use a variety of power and hand tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
- Feel comfortable working from ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and roofs.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
- Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services as needed.
- Work from heights and be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Be able to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Assist in other areas of the company and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician License
- Minimum 5 years of electrical experience
- Proficient knowledge of installation of PVC coated rigid conduit systems
- Able to lead a crew of various sizes ranging from 2 – 5 people
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
Physical Requirements
- Ability to make multiple trips up and down a ladder, daily
- Ability to lift, squat, deadlift, pull and carry up to 50 lbs., daily
- Ability to work at the ground level, kneeling, or bending daily
- Ability to kneel and stand repeatedly, daily
- Ability to operate a boom lift and scissor lift
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour
