Position Summary
The Regional Manager has direct oversite of several Area Managers within the same region. The primary role is to provide guidance and support to the Area Managers. The Regional Manager has financial responsibility for multiple regions and will lead, hire, train and mentor a local team of professionals to lead toward the company goals and objectives. This person is responsible for ensuring the Area Managers are achieving their goals in alignment with the Company Governance Authority.
Responsibilities
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Electrical Industry, and ability to prepare bids/pricing in collaboration with the estimating group and managers
- Responsible for Area P&L within predetermined company GP parameters.
- Responsible for all operations activities within the region, including obtaining and maintaining electrical licensing.
- Ensure all operating costs are being monitored closely and maintained within budget as compared to revenue.
- Responsible for developing and growing the management, supervision, and skilled workforce within the region.
- Maintain, monitor, and look for continuous improvement in all aspects of safety, quality, customer service, and productivity.
- Focus on core employee retention and reducing turnover by maintaining a high level of employee engagement.
- Work closely with the HR department to ensure all employee issues and concerns are handled effectively.
- Coordinate with all corporate departments and Business units to ensure all company policies & procedures are being followed.
- Oversee maintenance of vehicles and equipment in conjunction with Maintenance Dept.
- Responsible for regional asset management.
- Ensure regional areas are aligned on key initiatives and company objectives
- Consult and make recommendations on operational challenges
- Monitor sales goals and objectives
- Minimize cost and labor
- Ensure strict health and safety guidelines
- Liaising with staff at every level
- Create regional management progress reports for key stakeholders
- Resolving any issues or delays
- Working in an office or onsite.
- Have regular meeting cadence to review Sales and Project Margins
- Actively visit jobsites
- Conduct Site Safety and QC Audits
- Essential DutiesProvide Management reports to key company stakeholders
- Support your staff by making good decisions following the company governance matrix guidelines
- Oversight and review of Estimating/Sales/Business Development
- Oversight of Fleet and Tools
- Oversight of safety and risk management
- Oversight of Financial forecasting, costs to complete and project WIP reviews
- Engage in project reviews
- Ensure a Billings are updated and sent in a timely manner
- Provide oversite of Procurement
- Support project Close Out
- Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesMust have a strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and possess knowledge of such electrical contracting needs as MCC, high voltage, underground service and general equipment knowledge.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.
- Ability to manage compliance issues (OSHA, MSHA, First Aid/CPR, PPE, random drug/alcohol screens, etc.).
- Ability to read and comprehend requests for bid/quote, work orders, electrical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate with others at all levels of the organization and to assimilate and understand information in a manner consistent with essential job functions.
- Ability to professionally communicate with the customer and the public.
- Knowledge and compliance with company safety and disciplinary programs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of personnel problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to utilize basic skills of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in estimating and scheduling practices and software
- Education/ExperienceMinimum of high school diploma.
- Must have at least Ten (10) years of electrical contracting field experience.
- Must have Five (5) years of Project Management experience
- Must have three (3) years of Sr. Management experience
- PMP, Scrum certification or college degree preferred
