About The Position

At JTI Leaf Services(US) LLC and Liggett Vector Group we are committed to excellence and innovation in everything we do.

We are currently seeking an outstanding Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team in Mebane, NC.

This is an outstanding opportunity to link our Finance and Production functions and achieve flawless production-related financial results. You will play a crucial role in understanding and analyzing production costs and inventory valuation, making a significant impact on our operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain raw material, work in process, and finished goods inventory records.
• Analyze all monthly inventory transactions to ensure accuracy.
• Analyze and explain manufacturing variances to maintain financial integrity.
• Reconcile inventory control subsystems to the General Ledger, ensuring flawless records.
• Compile and analyze data for comprehensive operational and financial reporting.
• Add new items to the inventory master file as needed, ensuring up-to-date records.
• Modify bill of materials as necessary to reflect changes in production.
• Close the inventory system each month, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Assist in the annual budgeting process and establish product standard costs to drive financial performance.
• Ensure strict regulatory compliance regarding product excise taxes.
• Reconcile daily inventory movement to maintain accurate records.
• Prepare and submit excise tax returns in a timely manner.
• Maintain good relations with federal representatives of TTB, ensuring compliance and cooperation.
• Assist in TTB audits as needed, providing necessary documentation and support.
• Provide information on pending tax payments for accurate cash forecasting.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field. CMA preferred.
• Proven Cost Accounting experience (2-3 years) in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing is a plus.
• Experience with ERP applications in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with Windows-based PC software, primarily Excel.
• Oracle EBS or SAP experience is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels and across all fields of the organization.
• Self-starter with the ability to learn outstanding customized systems.
• Analytical mind with a curiosity for problem-solving and attention to details.
