Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Inventory and Purchasing Manager to oversee our inventory management processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring efficient supply chain operations, and managing vendor relationships. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in inventory control systems, and the ability to negotiate contracts effectively.
Duties
- Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce excess inventory.
- Utilize tracking systems for accurate tracking of inventory movements and reporting.
- Manage the procurement process by negotiating with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Oversee vendor management to ensure timely delivery of products and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with supply chain management teams to forecast demand and plan for future inventory needs.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare reports on inventory status, including turnover rates and stock levels for management review.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in inventory/purchasing management or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control systems.
- Excellent negotiation skills with experience in contract negotiation preferred.
- Familiarity with supply chain management principles is essential.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement in processes.
- Experienced with QuickBooks and its advanced inventory system.
