Fun Juanita Vision shop/clinic seeking frontdesk/optical assistant to fill immediate full-time position. Tuesday through Saturday. Duties include: pre-testing patients, customer service, scheduling, patient care, some sales. Optical experience a plus. Pay will depend on experience and/or qualifications. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Primary duty for front desk will be answering phone calls, verifying insurances, and scheduling patients, order contact lens.
- Primary duty for tech will be working up patients. Fundus photography, autorefractor, prepping exam rooms before every patient, checkingvisual acuities. Experience welcomed but can be trained.
- Answering multi-line phone system. Must have ability to triage phone calls and take messages. Ideal candidate must be meticulous ingathering information, as this position requires you to serve asliaison between physician and patient; we are looking for someone whohas excellent verbal and written skills in reporting information thatis accurate and complete.
- Filing electronic records. Scanning, naming, and importing records the patient's chart in our EMR system.
- Checking patient in/out. Checking in, greet patients, ensure all necessary paperwork is received and demographics are input into EMRfor each appointment. Collect co-pays. Checking out, make surepatients receive summary, orders and next appointment if needed.
- Scheduling new patients. Intake new patient demographic information and verify insurance. Once medical records have been received,schedule patient's appointment and mail out required office documents.
- General reception duties. Prepping charts and verifying insurance for next day's clinic, scheduling appointments, making reminder phonecalls, maintaining a clean waiting room, faxing/e-scanning- incomingoutgoing correspondences, checking voicemail. Ideal candidate will be;adaptable, self-motivated, responsible, dependable, detail oriented,with ability to prioritize and perform tasks under pressure,as well as the ability to perform delegated tasks efficiently andprofessionally.Requirements:
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- Medical experience is a plus, but not required (we are willing to train the right person)
- Comprehension of basic medical knowledge/terminology is a plus If interested.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
