Job Description:
The Metrology Specialist holds a general responsibility for proper functionality of the facility or production instrumentation utilized throughout the facility. The specialist demonstrates knowledge as a SME in multiple equipment/process areas or proficiencies. This position analyzes present and proposed metrology strategies and procedures to determine improvements in the reliability, repeatability and accuracy of the instrumentation. The specialist works closely with other metrology technicians to train and mentor on the proper techniques of instrument calibration and repairs in a cGMP environment. The specialist provides input to collaboration on SOP’s. Provides scheduling and assignment for breakdown repairs and scheduled calibrations.
- Lead in troubleshooting problems, repairing, and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on plant instrumentation.
- Provide support for facility renovations, equipment installations, calibration work orders, etc.
- Read and understand machine blue prints and drawings, floor plans, P&ID diagrams, electrical drawings, equipment schematics for measurement and control.
- Proficient with safe troubleshooting of AC/DC circuits, and measuring techniques.
- Proficient with the proper use of engineering and metrology documentation required under cGMPs. Examples include the Work Order System, the Critical Change Request System, SOP documentation, Validation documentation, etc.
- Support the training and development of the Metrology team in efforts to increase SME support for the facility.
- Take ownership of instrument reliability and related calibration procedure improvements in the areas assigned.
- Be capable of performing day-to-day responsibilities to fill in for the Metrology Supervisor as needed.
- Assist in the scheduling and coordinating in the response to equipment break-downs & calibrations on plant instrumentation.
- Assist in scheduling and assigning scheduled calibrations to Metrology Techs.
- Collaboration with document writers for calibration SOP creation/revisions in Master Control.
Qualifications:
- High school (or equivalent) technical certification or completion of Military Electronics Schools (preferred)
- Prefer Technical 2-yr degree or equivalent, including applicable license or certifications (Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls/PLC).
- Minimum 6 years FDA or other regulated industry
- Lead experience preferred
Shift: Weekday Mon-Wed w/EO Thursday 6:00am-6:00pm
Compensation & Benefits:
This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.
- Hiring Wage: $34.51 - $ 46.69/hr. depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. See full list of benefits below for our complete compensation package.
