Role and Responsibilities
The After-School Care Coordinator plays an important role in building relationships with students during after-school care. Students from Lake Hills Elementary spend their time at Jubilee REACH while they wait to be picked up to go home. The person in this job is led by the Student Services Specialist and the Student Services Manager.
The responsibility of the coordinator is to build healthy relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and coworkers to ensure every child is known, loved, affirmed, and experiences a sense of belonging. Some of the basic functions in this role require assistance in planning, organizing, facilitating, teaching, and monitoring the activities students participate in. Activities planned for students are to allow spaces for them to build relationships with each other and others as they engage in intellectual, creative, artistic, and physical ways.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older
Pass Federal fingerprint and State (WSP) background check and reference check
Minimum HS diploma or GED equivalent, college degree preferred
Posses a heart to serve and to love all, especially the ones who can be most difficult to love
Minimum of 6 months of experience working with youth

Areas of Responsibility and Quality Execution
Kids are present in the After-School Care from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and from 12:45pm to 5:00pm on Wednesdays.
Staff work until 5:30 to clean-up and set up for next day after children are picked up.
Account for every student daily, including one-on-one “check and connects.”
Assist in the planning and implementation of daily programs to meet the needs of the children in attendance; set up program, project, and activity areas as needed.
Interact with children in an effort to build self-esteem and form a comfort level with their peers; answer student questions, provide proper examples, emotional support, a friendly attitude, and general guidance.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized environment for students; demonstrate and involve students in cleaning and organizing program activity areas before, during, and after use.
The person in this role primarily works alongside with the Student Services Specialist. Support and serve all onsite JR staff and volunteers.
