What are the responsibilities and job description for the Database - Dev/Ops Administrator position at Judco Management, Inc.?
Position Summary
The Dev/Ops Administrator manages the systems/cloud infrastructure for the Armstrong Group of Companies and the systems used to deploy software and applications. This position bridges the gap between infrastructure, and applications to design and maintain services required to perform core business functions across our group of companies including:
-Proven track record and experience with Microsoft SQL database architecture and administration including: installation, configuration, maintenance, database tuning, and backups.
-Managing Azure and Microsoft services related to local and cloud technologies.
-Deploying and integrating services located in AWS and or other cloud providers.
-Passion for emerging Ai technology: its integration and use to improve productivity.
-Management of infrastructure and databases powering ERP systems.
-Providing reports/dashboards related to performance.
-Balancing up time, cost control and productivity for technology and staff.
Qualifications
- Excellent problem solving, collaboration and analytical skills are essential
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are needed to be successful
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
- Good interpersonal skills
- A strong self-starter
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors degree in IT, computer science or equivalent training and experience required
Experience:
- SQL, iSeries DB2, Oracle, and or MySQL databases
- Understanding of AWS: services, deployment and cost management
- Understanding of Kubernetes, Docker and Linux
- Knowledge in deploying applications through automation using management tools
- Five years experience as a Systems, Database Administrator/DevOps Administrator
- Certifications such as Docker Certified Associate (DCA), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or related are a plus
